Service and Luxury at the Westin Stonebriar

What a wonderful vacation we had in Dallas TX! The weather was a bit
disappointing, but the Westin was perfect.
After driving for 2 days from
Chicago to Dallas, we were ready to relax and enjoy the pool. The weather,
however, would not cooperate. It was in the 50s and 60s for the first 3 days!
We were forced to find some other means of entertainment for our week long
stay.
The day after our arrival the children and I went down to talk to
the Concierge. John and the Front Desk ended up helping us out looking on the
Internet for things to do around the Dallas area. John spent at least a half
hour giving me ideas and printing out maps. He also gave the kids a board game
to play while they were waiting. My children found a couple more games in a
living room style lounge area and spent a couple hours entertaining themselves
in front of the fire.
The following day, after going to the Dallas
Arboretum, we decided to venture out to the hot tub, even though it was only 60
degrees. While I soaked in the hot tub, several hotel staff came by to see if
we needed anything. One of the staff that came by happened to be Craig, the Westin
Stonebriar General Manager. During our brief conversation, I had
mentioned how disappointed i was with the cold temperatures and that I needed to
entertain my children other ways. He asked me my name and said he would get back
to me with some ideas.
As it turned out, his first idea was rather
simple, but really nice. Shortly after our conversation, a Westin employee came
down with robes for all of us. The kids loved them and were in their glory
trying them on and walking around the pool with their sleeves rolled up
pretending they were royalty!
Rather than another entertainment idea,
Craig decided to make us a bit more comfortable by upgrading our room to two
rooms overlooking the pool! One room with a king for my husband & I and
another room with two queens for the children. This gave us space to spread out
and a little peace & quiet for my husband when he worked on his laptop in
the room.
For the next two days we spent the mornings seeing the sites
around Dallas and the afternoons reading books or watching TV in our room. The
final two days, since the temperature finally rose to the 80s, were spent by the
pool.
While at the pool staff was readily present to take food and drink
orders. Much to our surprise, when I ordered iced tea, rather than a glass we
got a whole pitcher with lemons and sugar on the side, at no charge! There was
plenty for my family of five to enjoy.
Not only was the Westin service
great, but the facility was wonderful with it's luxurious decor in the entry and
public areas, as well as the rooms. This hotel was definitely in tip-top shape
and obviously well taken care of.
What an excellent trip. Not only did
they go out of their way to make us comfortable, but they went above and beyond
with the extra attention to our needs. Definite service and luxury at the
Westin Stonebriar in Frisco Texas!
